The Sorry State of Graffiti

Banksy is cool isn't he? He paints a picture of society on societies somber grey monolith buildings. Graffiti which raised any old "street art" to the lofty heights of Madonnas "Celebration" album cover. Hell most University dorm rooms feature one of his Rats with Elton Johns sunglasses on. So why is it that 99% of Graffiti is shite? I mean is it too much to ask that people put some effort into their anti-social behavior?

Below are some shots of Cheltenham's "Street Art", which I use in the loosest possible terms.
Proof of the state of our streets. No wonder they bloody riot.

As you can see, even with the evident humor of the last 2, its a right sorry state. Not only the standard  but the lack of any actual "Street Art" in this county.  There is hardly any Graffiti in either Gloucester or Cheltenham. Why? Can anyone help? Surely someone wants to make a mark? Its certainly a blank canvas.

Why not send some sweet art you've found locally and see it up here in the next Graffiti Blog.

Help us be a bit cool over here in the west. Lend us some Art.
